How to Write and Publish Your Own E-Book

by Michael Cheney

Writing and publishing your own e-book has become one of the latest crazes to take the Internet by storm. Lots of webmasters have realized that selling electronic information products is a great way to generate extra revenue streams from their website. You don’t need to be an acclaimed author to write and publish your own e-book. It can be relatively straight-forward.

The first step is to actually decide what you’re going to write your book about. This may sound obvious, but a lot of people often start out writing an e-book about a term or subject they’re not overly familiar with or are not highly passionate about. It’s a great bit of advice that you should always write about what you know.

If you have a high level of knowledge about a subject, it means you will be able to create lots of great content about that theme. You also need to be very passionate about your subject matter so that your e-book conveys this level of enthusiasm and passion to your audience. There is nothing worse than reading a dry, boring e-book.

If you think that actually writing all the content, writing the thousands of words for your e-book is a daunting task, there are other ways that you can get content to put in your e-book. A great way is to use other peoples content with their permission. There are even pre-written e-books that you can download or access on the Internet, for free, that are written by other authors.

These authors gladly give you their e-books so you can go off and promote them and earn money for them. The reason they do this is because their e-books are full of affiliate links. Whenever a reader clicks on one of these affiliate links from the e-book, the author gets paid an affiliate commission. They also use their e-books to promote extra products and services.

Another popular way of getting content for your e-book is to use interviews. You could interview, either over the phone, in person or via email, key figures in your particular sector.

If, for example, you are writing about the property industry, you could interview people in that arena and include their interviews, with their permission, in your e-book. Conversation makes a great way to actually expand the content of your e-book and create additional paragraphs and chapters that people will find interesting to read.

Once you have your e-book written, you then need to start down the road of creating it. You will need some e-book cover software to create a professional looking cover for your book. You need to make your e-book look like a physical product. People will be, therefore, more willing to buy it from you and trust you.

Once you have a great cover for your e-book, you then need to think about pricing levels and how you are going to sell it. An excellent way to sell informational products is to use ClickBank. ClickBank is one of the leading sellers of affiliate and information products on the Internet.

You can sign up with ClickBank and they will give you all the functionality you need to sell your e-book online. They manage all of the credit card processing and all of the payment transactions. You can even use ClickBank to set up an affiliate program so other people can sell your book on your behalf.

Good luck writing, publishing and creating your own e-book.
